Sandbanks Provincial Park

I've been staying at Sandbanks Provincial Park. There are a lot of pretty sights. Especially after a storm.

Burgeo area

Burgeo is at the end of a 150km road to an isolated community on the south coast. Isolated ports and islands are connected via an intra-provincial ferry service. The sandy crescent beaches at Sandbanks Provincial Park are stunning.

L'Anse aux Meadows area

1000 year old viking settlement. Archaeological digs with a reconstructed settlement.

Gros Morne Area

This is the gem in Newfoundland's crown...for good reason. Spectacular place. The tablelands are a rarely exposed piece of the earth's mantel.

Bonavista

Bonavista and Elliston are beautiful seaside communities. John Cabot landed in Bonavista in 1497.

South Avalon Peninsula

These are from various little communities along the south east section of the Avalon Peninsula. Wildlife was in abundance and I met the lighthouse keeper at Cape Race who offered to take me for a side-by-side ride to see seals.

Twillingate

These are at Long Point lighthouse. In addition to the beautiful cliffs and views, there are dozens of almost tame rabbits wandering the grounds.

Lark Harbour area is a spectacular place. Lots more to see on a future trip.
